Updating home entry
Hope you all are enjoying this wonderful Christmas season and all that it offers.I’ve been having a blast, from partaking in Christmas parties, plays, and dinners with friends and am thoroughly enjoying this month.
It has, somehow, become a “common misconception” that all South facing houses are bad, however, that’s not truly the case. We've all been taught that it's what's on the inside that counts; but when it comes to your home, the outside is certainly just as important.A drab exterior can make you cringe every time you approach the front door, while a handsome, thoughtfully designed one can turn the experience into a true pleasure. For all houses having main door in South direction, it’s must to have another door in North direction also. The below diagram helps you identify best locations for entrance door for a house as per vastu shastra. – In most houses, main door leads to living room of the home.

She would love to open up the wall behind the sofa into the family room behind it. I’m sure that’s a load bearing wall, but it would really give more of a spacious feel if it was opened up. The family room is right behind the formal living room and the kitchen is through that door to the right. We are going to reupholster some of her furniture and I’ll help her shop for new pieces later on. I’m trying to figure out how to update the doors, maybe adding some molding. Not sure what we will do with this desk area, may keep it or do something different. Can you imagine how much lighter and brighter it will feel? She already got rid of a lot of stuff in here and we aren’t finished decorating yet. I’ll keep you posted along the way as Andrea and David update this home and make it a beautiful space to live. I'm Rhoda, from Atlanta, GA and I love decorating and DIY projects.
